Meet Dr.Thomas Vielma (Pleasanton, TX)
Thomas Vielma, O.D. received his Doctor of Optometry from the University of Houston in 1998. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Texas at Austin, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology in 1994.
Being able to improve the quality of life of those who need it most through eye care inspired Dr. Vielma to become an optometrist. Dr. Vielma finds fulfillment in educating and assisting his patients to achieve their eye care needs.
In his free time, Dr. Vielma loves being outdoors, traveling, playing piano, meeting new people, and finding new restaurants.

EyeTX – Dr. Christopher Prough
I made three appointments about a week in advance for myself and my ... Show Moretwo children, and I was pleasantly surprised that we were able to get in ahead of our scheduled appointment time.
Before the appointment, I received three separate letters in the mail, one addressed to each of us, all containing the same information about potential out-of-pocket costs if insurance coverage was not applicable. I called the office to clarify, and during that conversation, we confirmed that one of my children was under five. The doctor we were initially scheduled with did not see children under five, so the office rescheduled all three of us for later that day with another doctor.
Dr. Prough was very good with both of my children. He was patient and willing to work around my one-and-a-half-year-old's reluctance to participate or focus on him. I felt that the necessary checks were completed without making the appointment unnecessarily difficult.
Even the eye dilation went surprisingly well with my youngest. She did not have a crying reaction to the drops. I appreciated that the appointment itself had not left her overly irritated or upset beforehand, which I believe helped make the experience easier for her.
Overall, we had a fairly painless experience, and I appreciated Dr. Prough's patience and flexibility when working with young children.
